Overview
FilmConvert Nitrate starts from a camera profile: you tell it which camera and picture profile shot the footage, and it linearizes that source before applying a film look, so the emulation sits on a known starting point instead of a generic log guess.
From there you pick a film stock, adjust exposure, temperature, and tint, and shape the result with a full curve editor. The grain is scanned from real film at high resolution and scales with your timeline, so it stays the right size at any output. In Resolve it loads as an OpenFX filter on the Color page and runs on both Free and Studio, macOS and Windows. A trial covers the full plugin before the $129 license.

Verdict
Nitrate's camera-specific profiles genuinely produce more accurate color than a generic LUT, and the interface is faster to work in than Dehancer's deeper control set. What you give up is stock variety and halation realism, so if photochemical accuracy is the priority, Dehancer or Filmbox will get you closer.
