This happens because light passes through the film emulsion and reflects off the anti-halation layer back into the emulsion. It's particularly characteristic of CineStill 800T film (which has the remjet layer removed). Our Halation Lab digitally recreates this effect with adjustable intensity, bloom, and threshold controls for authentic film aesthetics.
