InstantCard Lab: Creating Polaroid-Style Cards from Your Photos

I share a lot of photos online. And like many photographers, I often want to share the technical details too. I want to showcase what camera, what lens, and what film recipe I used to get that specific look.

But typing out "Fujifilm X-T5 + XF 35mm f/1.4 + Italian Summer recipe" under every post can get old fast. It breaks the flow.

I wanted something cleaner. A way to show the image and the metadata together, in a format that looks good, like a physical Polaroid or Instax print, but digital. Something I could export in seconds and post directly to Instagram or Threads.

So I built InstantCard Lab.

What it does

It's simple. You upload a photo, and the tool automatically reads the EXIF data, camera model, lens, settings. It displays this information at the bottom of the card, just like those classic instant film prints.

You can choose the format: square for Instagram, 3:4 for that Instax Mini look, 4:5 for portraits, or 4:3 for wider shots. Adjust the border size. Pick a background color, white, cream, sage, or whatever custom color matches your aesthetic.

If the EXIF data is missing or incomplete (which happens if you processed the image elsewhere), you can manually type in the camera, lens, and film recipe. I use this to add my custom recipe names that aren't stored in the file.

Then you export a high-resolution PNG and post it.

Why I built it

I built this first for myself. I didn't want to open Photoshop every time I wanted to make a clean "photo card" for social media. I wanted a tool that did exactly this one thing.

And like my other tools, it runs entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your computer. Everything happens locally : the EXIF extraction, the card generation, everything. I don't see your images, no one does. That's how it should be.
